Piece #37, Pure Niobium Möbius Ring, handcrafted in my workshop
Eight years ago(2018), a Chinese student left a comment on my page asking: *"*Could you make a Möbius ring out of pure niobium or tantalum?"
Back then, I was already running a workshop focused on corrosion-resistant metals jewelry for over 5 years, but pure niobium (#41) turned out to be an nightmare to shape into a Möbius form. Niobium is notoriously "gummy" to work with, it sticks to cutting tools, tears easily, and very hard to polish to such a mirror-like surface. it take me 8 years to find a way to make this ring. ( together with tantalum)
