Do any of you know how to prevent razor bumps they hurt so bad :( I need go know how to prevent them

I know that the collector is supposed to be a super scary leviathan and try to kill you every chance it gets but it doesn’t make sense when the devs specifically designed it in the lore to be curious and it kills things because its curious about it so its a little confusing how the collector just instantly kills you instead of trying to study you or like other curious animals and staking you in the water that would be much scarier also I noticed that when the collector attacks you in your tadpole all it does is throw you I feel like the leviathan know for having tentacles that can penetrate solid titanium should be able to break glass between something it’s interested in
