Is it okay to not "make up" the difference when I burn a significant amount calories over my normal TDEE
For background, I'm 36/m, 6ft1 and currently about 320lbs, down from 360 in January. I've taken the average from several different TDEE calculators and budgeted myself 2500 calories a day. Whenever my fitbit says I've exceeded my daily goal, I just take it as a plus and still keep it at 2500.
Today, I spent nearly 3 hours doing some pretty intense yard work. I was helping a family friend, and was mowing through very thick overgrown weeds for about 2.5 hours and weedwacking for about half an hour. I was wearing my fitbit the entire time, and it tracked my heart rate to be between 110-160 the entire time. I was - very- exhausted afterwards.
According to what I've been researching online, I probably expended about 1700-2000 calories doing all that work. That's before I head to the gym tonight for a combined legs/pull day.
So my question is, can I just ignore those extra calories burned as I usually do, or do really need to make it up? I'm seeing mixed answers online
