It’s a book involving this species of violent creature/monster and the MC and his employer are trying to obtain one for… reasons I cannot remember. I’m not sure on too many of the details since I read this back in middle school and I didn’t get through the whole book since it scared me but!! I do remember one scene where the main character is being told about how some people kept one of the monsters in a pit and sacrificed a girl to it. There’s also a detail where the monster is smuggled into the main character’s country for some reason? The MC is male, younger and works for someone else. Not his father. There’s a scene in a graveyard.

I wish I remembered more!! If anyone thinks they’ve read smth similar please let me know!!
