Aerocomfort 3.0 Road Derailleur Packing Options/Help

I'm preparing for my first international trip bringing my bike in a couple of weeks (France/Spain/Italy) and was hoping for some advice.

I've bought a Scicon Aerocomfort 3.0 Road Bike Travel Bag and as a novice home mechanic (generous) who sticks mostly to basic maintenance items I'm hoping people have some insight into the safest way to pack my bike given the minimal protection the bag seems to provide is somewhat terrifying.

The main issue as I see it is that my SRAM GX Eagle AXS derraileur sits within 1cm of the rear of the bag when mounted. This means there's minimal opportunity to pad it and any impact to that area of the bag will be straight onto the cage.

Options I have considered are:

  1. Loosening off the derailleur mounting bolt and rotating it anti-clockwise to bring the cage further under the chainstay for more clearance at the back of the bag (see image).

  2. Removing the chain and locking out the derailleur which will bring the pulley forward (worried about the lock disengaging during transit with this one).

  3. Removing the derailleur alltogether and re-assembing on arrival (in Paris). I'd be relying on a bike shop with help as I'm not able to torque to 35Nm accurately - similar issue with option 1.

Any suggestions, tips or ideas would be much appreciated.

The fram is titanium so damage to that is less of a concern. I also plan on loosening off my hoods and turn them in as well as DIYing some PVC supports for the handlebars and around the rear axle.
