Is 30 considered late to seriously pursue theatre/drama school?

Hi!

I’ve been seriously thinking about pursuing acting/theatre training later in life, possibly applying to drama school around age 30.

I know there’s technically no “expiration date” on art, but I’d really like to hear honest perspectives from people who work in theatre or studied acting themselves.

  1. How common is it for people to start later?
  2. Is theatre generally more accepting of age than film/TV?
  3. Have any of you started training professionally in your late 20s or 30s?
  4. What were the biggest challenges?

I’m not really looking for motivational clichés — I’m more interested in realistic experiences and industry perspectives.

Thank you!
