Im so thankful the ffxiv community is so nice to the disabled

So i just came back after YEARS of being gone. I had quit back when stormblood came out, and a buddy of mine who no longer plays gifted me endwalker back when it came out (so i have everything except dawntrail)

The game is so different now. The symbols are different, there are so many debuffs, now there are active time events? So on and so forth.

I just queued up and beat shinryu at the end of stormblood (such an amazing story, by the way, and ive heard it only gets better?! Im so excited!)

Anyways, I USED to play scholar, but with everything being different, and me having horrible eyes and issues with my hands now (controller helps, but i still miss a button here and there), i decided to go in as summoner. Well, I died probably about 3 times or so, messed up my rotation a few times out of nerves and frustrations, and everyone in party was completely cool with it and someone even gave me a commendation at the end and told me to enjoy myself, despite all of my failures.

And honestly? It just made my night. I'm gonna try to get better and hopefully once I get used to all the new symbols and get back into the swing of things, ill be better, but im just so thankful that everyone was so nice and people have been so helpful.

Just thought id post a story here and express my thanks :)

Also... if i was to ask 2 questions at the end of this, it would be:

  1. Does anyone have any jobs they recommend for someone who struggles with fast rotations? I heard summoner is the most simple, but i was also curious about what melee job may be simple?

  2. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to deal with all of the effects? I think my issue is truly there seems to be so much going on at once, so its likely I just need to mess with my settings but im unsure what to mess with.

Any help or advice would be appreciated, and also if you have any good stories of your own, id love to hear!

Thanks all!
