convinced my friend to watch cpk but he doesn't like the explanation behind why kaguya got sent 8000 years into the past. anyone can give an explanation?

so firstly, the entire reason kaguya got sent back 8k years into the past was cos she "crashed into the asteroid" to him it lowk was a half ass reasoning from the author, like he was drunk and decided to make her pod crash into a random rock in space. in the anime, it was stated that the moon's technology is 10x better than earth's but while nasa has systems in their rockets to avoid asteroids, why doesn't kaguya's pod have measures to avoid asteroids?
why didnt kaguya just pre plan her route before hopping off the moon? it kinda seemed like she got super duper excited after hearing iroha, rushed her work and jumped on the pod
