Making perfume from rose petals - advice?

Hi there! I was wondering if anyone had advice for turning roses into a usable perfume. I buy pounds of dried food grade rose petals typically for use in making rose petal jam that i sell at farmers markets or charity events. My moms birthday is coming up in 2 months and she talks sometimes about this rose water fragrance she used to make and wear all the time

She loves handmade stuff, and my rose things especially. I can source other necessary ingredients and have genuinely pounds of rose petals i can use for this, ive just never made a perfume before and every website anymore is loaded with ai recipes that have terrible reviews :( I assume a fragrance being a much more concentrated thing than flavor, itll take a ton of petals to make anything useful, and if i can avoid wasting batches on fake generated recipes, that would be great

I have a general idea of how it should work from experience making jam, but id rather have advice from people who already know how to do it without accidentally snitching to my mom about what im doing 😅 any advice/recipes/recommendations welcome!
