Vedika always knew one thing, daughters like her don't get choices.

Not when family honor is involved. Not when obedience is expected. And definitely not when her father decides her future with a single sentence.

She had dreams once. A life she was building, a future that was hers. But being the perfect daughter meant choosing duty over desire, and so she said yes, when every part of her was screaming no.

Now bound to Vihaan in a marriage she never asked for, Vedika steps into a life she never wanted with a man she never chose. Every smile hides a sacrifice.

Every promise feels like a cage. And every dream slips a little further away.

Because the hardest part of losing your future... is pretending you never wanted it in the first place.

I’m currently working on my very first historical fiction book, Ranisa: The First Wife, set in India, and I’d genuinely love to hear what readers like you would want to see in a story like this.

I’d also love to know what historical fiction books or even Wattpad stories set in India you’ve enjoyed, and what exactly made them stand out for you.

What pulls you into a story right from the first page?

What do you think is missing in most historical fiction today? Feel free to share anything, big ideas, small details, or even random thoughts.

My goal is to gather as many perspectives as possible to craft a strong overall experience, so don’t hold back 🙂
