Hey, I’d appreciate some honest guidance. Is it true that graduates who finished med school 2–3 years ago have lower chances of matching in USMLE? I’ve read posts saying only fresh graduates are accepted. At what year of graduation does it start becoming risky or seen as a red flag for programs? Would appreciate real experiences and advice.

Hello everyone! I’m a recent MBBS graduate from Pakistan and I’m currently confused between pursuing AMC or USMLE. I’d really appreciate honest guidance from people who have experience with either pathway.

My main concerns are:
• Which route is realistically faster to start working?
• Which pathway is more cost-effective overall (exams, visa, travel, observerships, match/job process)?
• Which has a better chance of securing a job for an IMG from Pakistan?
• In 2026, which pathway would you personally recommend and why?
