Help connecting Taco SR501 to new heat zone
First off, in just a DIYer so bear with me. Hoping I don't have to call an HVAC guy for connecting some wires.
I have a US boiler gas fired boiler to heat the house. Not sure if it matters but the hot water heater is direct and also gas fired.
When my plumber installed the boiler I asked them to set it up for an extra zone because I planned on finishing the basement. Now that the basement is done I connected the plumbing for the extra zone but I'm struggling with the wiring. The boiler only has one circulator pump. The circulator pump is attached to three zone valves. The existing zone valves are operated by Honeywell RA89A relays. I couldn't find that relay so I purchased a Taco SR501. It seemed like that unit also had a common wire which would work with my nest thermostat. The Honeywell relays are not directly connected to the circulator as far as I can tell. They have power coming in as well as 2 thermostat wires. Then two 18-gauge wires that connect to the zone valves. I tried to wire up the new relay by mirroring the existing wiring but I'm struggling to get it to work. The thermostat is connected to the relay and is getting power. When I turn up the heat I can hear an audible click in the relay.... But the boiler and circulator are not kicking on. I have attached pictures of the Honeywell relay and how I wired the Taco relay. I'm assuming I made a wrong connection where the relay would trigger the circulator and boiler to fire??
Any help would be appreciated
update - it looks like the photos didn't attach so I'll try to explain how the existing relays are wired. there are two 18 gauge wires coming out of each relay. The white wires are connected to each other as well as another 18 gauge wire that goes to the boiler. Each red wire connects to a different zone valve. so what I did with the teco relay is I connected the white wire with the other white wires and then I connected the red wire to the new zone valve.
