Need some tips and tricks on hole punching!
Hi everyone,
I recently started with leathercrafting and there's one specific thing I can't really get my head around. I use my own printed templates, but I keep getting small differences in the holes that I punch.
I made some straps with D-rings, but multiple layers don't line up nicely and if I look at my paper templates, I can already see that I'm mislining the holes. (the bigger circle is the size of the chicago screw, there was a black dot in the middle that I punched out).
The same (last picture) with a PR style notebook.
I use relatively cheap tools (since I'm just starting out), but also not the cheapest available on the market...
How can I improve this? Marking directly onto the leather so my paper templates can't accidently move around? Using different tools? Create different templates?
Thanks a lot!
