Party Has Way Too Many "Extras" In Combat
Hey all, so my party has a Druid and a Rogue who both have Find Familiar (the Rogue took Magic Initiate: Wizard specifically to get this...he's definitely building a very niche character...that's a whole different thing), plus they found a Baba Yaga's Dancing Broom in an early story (part of the module, not something I gave them off the top of my head).
Thing is combat is absolutely dragging because instead of four players plus the enemies, there's four players, two familiars, a broom, and enemies. I could obviously have the broom get destroyed at some point in combat, and the familiars will start to be taken out more easily with AoE attacks as combat gets harder (they're Level 4 right now), but does anyone have any other ideas to help combat not drag with the added familiars? I don't want to just aim for them to always get them destroyed in combat...it feels adversarial, which isn't my jam.
