This is his first season in the bigs so stat line isn’t great but still was scouted 4.5 stars for multiple years in the bigs and now suddenly drops 2.5 stars???

I have been going HAM trying to optimize numbers (ERA, Avg, etc.). Making a shit ton of trades trying to upgrade every position when guys are struggling. On season 4 and I’m 16 games back from first place.
Yes, my bullpen sucks. My closer went down and I’ve been trying to find guys with ERA <~6.
Maybe I’m over trading but nothing seems to be working at this point. I’m very close to deleting the app entirely
Then I see videos like this and I’m like maybe I’m the problem… Perfect sear, I’m sure it tastes incredible and incredibly juicy inside.
Can someone please tell me how to do this at home? I have cast iron and stainless steel, but prefer the grill because it turns out better that way imo. But would love to remake a big bucket of marinated chicken like this restaurant does
