I got a text from my local Nissan dealership that they have a remedy for the Leaf DCFC battery recall. Has anyone else heard about this?

This sounds like good news for Leaf owners, but complicating matters for me, I’m in the middle of the buy-back process with Nissan. I should’ve gotten my buy-back quote yesterday, but the person I’m working with was out of the office yesterday and today. Anyone else going through this and have any idea how the potential remedy would impact the buy-back process?

I currently own a Nissan Leaf, so I’m familiar with EVs (and have a level 2 charger at home). I love my Leaf as an around town commuter car, but it only has a 150 mile range and there’s a recall on its battery that doesn’t allow me to fast charge, which makes it unusable for road trips. Nissan has offered to buy it back under CA’s Lemon Law policy. And after doing a bit of research, I’m starting to look for a used 2024 Ioniq 5 long range RWD.

Besides the ICCU issue, is there anything I should know or look for when I check out used Ioniq 5s? Any other common problems I should be aware of? Do I need any special software or hardware to check the SoC / health of the battery? Any things like a portable EVSE that were included when it was new that I should make sure are still included? Any other advice you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
