Which pool layout would you choose for a small backyard?
I'm trying to decide between these two pool layouts for a relatively small backyard (about 8.5 m × 8.0 m / 28 × 26 ft).
Option 1: Pool is approximately 6.1 × 3.4 m (20 × 11 ft), positioned more centrally with roughly 0.8 m of space on the sides.
Option 2: Pool is approximately 5 × 3 m (16.4 × 9.8 ft), positioned toward one side, leaving a much larger open area on the opposite side.
I've attached the two layouts below.
My priorities are:
Making the backyard feel spacious rather than cramped
Having enough room around the pool for seating/entertaining
Good overall aesthetics and flow
Still having a pool large enough for a family to actually enjoy
Which layout would you choose and why? Would you change the pool dimensions or placement in either design?
