How can you tell if a binary options platform is actually trading against its users?
I’m still pretty new to binary options and have been trying to learn how these platforms actually work.
One thing I keep seeing is that some platforms may also be the counterparty to users’ trades. If that’s true, it sounds like there could be a pretty obvious conflict of interest.
But I honestly don’t know how to check this in practice.
For people who have been trading for a while, what do you usually look at?
Things like:
- who provides the liquidity
- where the price comes from
- whether entry/settlement prices can be verified elsewhere
- whether the platform says who is taking the other side of the trade
- how payouts and settlement actually work
I’ve also been reading a bit about third-party liquidity and on-chain settlement, but I’m still trying to understand how much those things really matter.
Would love to hear how you guys evaluate a platform before putting money into it.
