Day ins and two of Tour de Fleece

My first TdF project is a 150g Romney braid which I divided into three parts.

This will be a true 3ply sock yarn, the first bobbin is done and the second one started!

Love how this is coming along ❤️

First time spinning cotton

I ordered myself some cotton to try out since I haven't spun it before. Did some little research and found that I need a lot of twists to keep the short stable length together.

I plucked a tiny bit of the carded band and tried spinning it on my karavelli spindle. The off white is the cotton the bright white is my leader. Not too shabby for my first attempt at spinning cotton :D

It is very much lace weight single with around 35 wpi

Update on the gradient braid

As promised an update to this post

So here are the numbers before washing!

150g with 560m (approx. 612yards) it is drying as I post this cause I finished it last night around midnight and I didn't have the spoons to wash it.

I really love how this turned out! And no I haven't figured out what I want to do with it yet.

Almost done with this braid

I really love how this 150g 100% cormo braid (dyed by Frau Wöllfchen) is turning out.

I'm aiming for a 3ply light fingering or fingering weight yarn - will be chain plying this to preserve the colour change.

This is the first time i'm spinning cormo but it's very lovely and am thinking about commissioning some more cormo braids from her 🤭
