85 Wellesley East - Reviews? Questions on the area

Hi everyone,

I'm considering an apartment at 85 Wellesley St East. I am familiar with the area but my concern is the safety of the Wellesley & Church St intersection. Does anyone have experience with the 85 Wellesley St e or with living in that intersection? I would especially appreciate the point of view of a woman and if it is safe late at night/ early in the morning/ winter?

Is it as unsafe as say Sherboune & Dundas?

Behind the Scenes of Senegal's World Cup Journey. And how they were sabotaged by their Federation

Hello everyone! I have seen many people who were shocked by the Senegalese team's poor performance in the game against Belgium. I wanted to share a series of news stories that have been breaking through in the Francophone world about the behind the scenes of the Senegalese team's journey and how the Senegalese Federation sabotaged the team's ability to perform.

There were 3 news stories. I linked the second one above but I will link the rest in a comment below.

The first news story revealed that by the first group game against France:

* The federation had still not paid the bonuses for qualifying in World Cup to the players.

* The hotel chosen by the Federation for the team was substandard, even though there was money.

* The Senegalese coach had not been paid since February and in fact, there was no contract for the coach during the French game.

* The Federation failed to get a head chef to cook nutritious meals for the players. The lack of chef and the substandard hotel were not issues for the AFCON, wherein the Federation secured good quality accommodation and chefs to support recovery and nutrition. Due to the lack of appropriate chefs for the World Cup, the players found themselves buying food from the shops.

Article 2 of the series (linked aboved) revealed the following:

* The coach who had not been paid for the entirety of the lead up to the World Cup or the France v Senegal game threatened to quit. Six hours before the game against Norway, the Senegalese Federation finally got a contract prepared for the coach and paid the arrears for the salary. The contract had a clause that the coach must quit if the team doesn't reach quarter finals.

* No update on if the food issue had been solved.

* But there was frustration among the team and the government of Senegal because the Federation members were going to galas and drinking champagne instead of solving these logistical nightmares.

Article 3 of the series focuses on how financial mismanagement was present before even the start of the World Cup. For example, the team couldn't train in one of the stadiums in Dakar because the Federation hadn't settled its prior debt with the owners of that stadium.

I think we can give a bit of grace to the players because we can't be sure if they were properly fed, and their coach was probably not in the best mood either. Also, the latest news is that the players are currently stuck in Seattle because the Federation hasn't secured a flight back.

Why on earth do they have this character speaking like this?

This is Charles in Wave Patrol. The writing team wrote him as speaking in way that is stereotyping Black people. Like the pattern of speech doesn't even match AAVE. Kayla, who is also Black, doesn't speak like this. By failing to do a good job at writing AAVE, they essentially have this guy speaking broken English. Not cool.
