Well…after years of research and me finally deciding on a surgeon and having a consultation, I get a letter in the mail today that says she’s leaving. I’m in the middle of fighting with my insurance, because they denied me phallo even though it claims it covers all gender affirming care, and now this?

I live in chicago and wanted a good surgeon who is close to home. I don’t know what to do now. Cripps isn’t the only surgeon around who does phallo, but she was definitely the best option here with the best aftercare. I hate the idea of starting over, especially because the wait list is so long and I wanted to have the surgery within the next year.

Any advice?
