How can I replace or fix the lid to this glass water dispenser?

I bought this water dispenser and the lid is chipped on the inside. Out of fear of drinking glass chips, Im trying to find a way to either replace the lid or fix it. I know fixing it might not work. The lid is detachable from the wire piece that connects it to the closing mechanism. The lid is a little under 4.5 inches wide and about an inch thick. The glass says old-fashioned Nantucket glassware CO. 2 gallons EST 1918
