Help save my split leaf philodendron

This split leaf philodendron is 45 years old (my mom got it as a wedding present 😭) and I’m trying to keep it alive as the cat was getting in to it at her place.

It put out its most recent leaf (second pic) a month or so ago but the leaves have been drying out from the edges inward then falling off one by one fora few months now.

In front of a south facing window gets a few hours of sunlight a day. (Moved downstairs a month or two ago, upstairs was also in front of a South window but light was blocked from AC unit.

Water about once weekly. I was afraid of root rot so I repotted last week but there wasn’t any signs of rot, though some roots feel like there is a hollow casing around an inner firm root if that makes sense so not sure that is a sign of past root issues.

Any help is much appreciated 🙏🙏
