Opinion???

I’m in a band with some friends, and I’m honestly not sure if the setup is working and I’d like outside opinions.

There are 6 of us: drums, guitar, 2 singers, and 2 bass players (I’m one of the bassists).

From a musical standpoint, having two bassists has been really difficult. We end up stepping on each other rhythmically and it often feels muddy or cluttered rather than tight. I’ve tried to make it work, but it hasn’t really clicked so far.

The other bassist is still fairly new (around a year of playing) and she often struggles with songs and will sometimes ask me to cover parts during rehearsal. The other singer is also quite new and is still developing her vocal control and stage confidence. I’m not saying this to be mean — just trying to describe where we’re all at skill-wise.

I tried bringing up the idea of simplifying the lineup or doing something like informal auditions or role adjustments, but the response was basically that I was overreacting. I was also told I could switch instruments instead, which doesn’t really feel fair to me since I’ve been playing bass for around 10 years and it’s the instrument I’m committed to.

I’m feeling stuck because I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings or come across as gatekeeping, but I also feel like the current setup isn’t working musically and isn’t improving.

So I guess I’m looking for honest outside opinions.
Like AITA?
How do I come to them with my concerns in a better way?
I feel like i'm stuck.
Should I suck it up and deal with 6 people? I don't know, just tell me your general opinion about this post😔🙏
