Okay, I read a book in elementary school about a little girl and she had big boots which were, like, part of her personality, and she either had a pet lizard or was bitten by a lizard. I think her name might have started with an "M". Her mother was definitely an important character as well, and I think the lesson of the book had something to do with friendship.
