Should I take ANP 1115 online?
or would it be a bad idea?
or would it be a bad idea?
I’ve seen mixed reviews about this prof. Can anyone share their experiences? If an A possible in her class?
Goto or Rashmi?
EDIT*: Updated Schedule
FALL:
I dont know why my chem labs don't show on the schedule
WINTER:
What are my odds of getting the classes and profs of my choice?
Would emailing the faculty to explain my situation help? I’m in heath science btw
I know policies can vary by school, but I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the med school application process or has experience with this. Thanks!
I just accepted my offer and I need advice from upper years! I haven't received any email about course selection platform so please don't mind if my questions are silly.
I really want to take one course online, preferably ENG1100. Is there an option to take courses online? Is it better to take it in-person? If I take it online would there be an in-person exam?
I don't want CHM 1311 AND BIO 1140 together in the first semester. I was thinking to take bio in first and chem in second. Would there be difficulty in enrolling if don't follow the normal course sequence? I do want to finish both first year.
Since profs will be released later on, should I still enrol in classes? I really want to pick the right (easy) profs using rate my prof and this subreddit
I’m trying to decide between University of Ottawa Health Sciences and Guelph Biological Science for premed and I’m stuck on how much distance from home should realistically factor into the decision.
Academically, I know both can work for med school. Ottawa Health Sci seems to have higher GPA potential and more flexibility while Guelph BIOS seems stronger for built in science/MCAT prep.
The thing I’m struggling with is that both would require moving away but one is significantly farther than the other. I’m wondering how much that actually matters over 4 years as a premed student.
For people who moved farther away for university:
- did the independence help or hurt your GPA/mental health?
- did being far from family/support systems become difficult during midterms/exam seasons?
- do you think being able to go home more easily makes a meaningful difference in premed life?
- would you choose differently now?
I’m trying to think long term because I know GPA is huge for Canadian med schools.
Thanks!
Hi guys, I’m having a hard time deciding between UOttawa health sciences (5+ hours away) and Guelph biological science (2.5 hour away)
Ottawa health science would be easier for GPA but it doesn’t have all the prerequisites included in the program for medical school.
I don’t understand why people in this subreddit are saying this is a con because you can take them as electives anyways.
On the other hand, Guelph biological science is considered a good balance for science prerequisites and GPA.
Another reason why I want to consider Uottawa is because it has its own medical school and might have more volunteer or research opportunities.
Please help me out by providing some insights. I deff don’t want to risk my gpa.
I feel terrible. 92.8 average
Hi everyone, I'm really confused between these programs that I got accepted to. I know, they are really different than each other (health sci vs. life sci) but I'm not sure which ones I will like more. The idea of life sci which is less social or inquiry based sounds good but I'm scared it will be really hard compared to health sci. I have heard your gpa should be the number one priority so I was wondering if I can get some insights on which program will be better. I have 5 offers so far but I'm deciding between Guelph bio sci, Ottawa health sci, Western health sci , Guelph Neuroscience.
