ball of inflamed tissue?
hey all!
I have two setons in place for my fistula and am currently waiting to be booked in for a LIFT in early July. I noticed a new ball/what I thought was an abscess about three weeks ago, but there was no significant pain and it wasn’t growing so I assumed even if it was it was just draining.
However I’ve had worsening pain over the last week and the ‘ball’ has grown to about 2x3 cms. It’s on the opposite bum cheek to the rest of my abscesses/issues. I have gone to the hospital to have it examined. The surgeon believes it is a ball of inflamed tissue based on examination, so he’s sending me home with painkillers.
I’m not 100% convinced of this, because it just feel like the pain I get with an abscess. But maybe that is just hyper-vigilance and this is a totally normal fistula thing? Currently waiting for my bloods to come back to see my infection markers and then I’ll be discharged.
So I guess I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar?
