Refusing to start the birth control

I have been experiencing severely heavy periods ever since my very first menstruation, and I was also diagnosed with a thickened uterine wall. Because of this, my quality of life has dropped significantly, and I now suffer from low iron and vitamin levels.

Every gynecologist I visit recommends either a hormonal IUD or birth control pills. However, I am terrified of potential side effects like weight gain, acne, and mood swings.

Are there any alternative treatments or ways to manage this? Has anyone else gone through something similar? My next period starts in 10 days, so I need to decide whether to finally accept these hormonal treatments or find another solution.
