Fantasy books w. distinctly lush and feminine writing style?
Something that flows and sounds like a Virginia Woolf novel—super distinct voice, very lush and beautiful and sometimes wandering and distinctly feminine—but in the fantasy genre. Most fantasy books I’ve read have a very active, clear, written like it’s playing an action movie type of voice (even the romantasies that center on feminine topics)—probably because that voice lends itself better to fast-paced plots. But I’m curious if there are any fantasies out there that also make you sit with the sentence and think, wow, that’s a really pretty sentence, in the midst of like, civilization collapse or dragon wars or fairy gardens or whatever haha.
