Find my voice
I am very new to voice acting. I've wanted to voice characters in cartoons, tv shows, and video games for years and I'm finally starting my journey. I've been doing faux recordings for myself and in a previous post I made, I've been taking things people have said to heart.
I've noticed when recording, I shift tones, or my voice doesn't match the emotion of what is being said. I think I may have a slight lisp, and I want to improve. I want to be able to find my natural voice and improve speaking from my diaphragm, and I also want to be able to correct any vocal mistakes I'm making such as mumbling, lisping, or anything else, but I've spoken this way for 30 years and I can't really just say, "Just talk better, idiot."
Do you have any tips on A:) Finding your natural voice and speaking from your diaphragm, and B:) correcting speaking mistakes on your own?
I have been watching "Find your voice" videos, and videos on how to speak more clearly, as well as practicing my recordings whenever I have the time to do so. I wanted to ask, what have you done to improve your voice and speech in general?
(Thank you all for your help, the information I've gathered from other peoples posts and my previous posts have been really invigorating and helpful. I've been excited to record, even if it's just for myself.)
