160/80 meter popping tonight

I thought with a K5 index there would be horrible conditions. But from EM85, I am hearing both A/B cycles on 160meter FT8, indoors, on a ATS mini receiver with a cheap amazon SMA loop antenna. It is so clear, my phone is able to decode signals from CN85 using the on board microphone, again, on 160meter (1.840MHz) which is wild.

I was able to be heard on a daily 75meter net, QRP, on a 88ft EFRW. No one is able to hear me when I am below 75 watts normally. Crazy I was weak but readable from across North Carolina.

Enjoy the band conditions. I have to get sleep for work tomorrow so I'm unable to make those contacts.

Welp...

Went to install the new HG_21700_NVME Board. As soon as the connectors made contact with the board, sparks and smoke. Batteries were installed with correct polarity. One of the battery springs even decided to become heat treated and lost its springiness, becoming discolored (I worked to bring it back to the "correct" length) battery voltage for both batteries showed 3.75V for each. The batteries worked fine after placing them back in a board/project I borrowed them from to test the 21700 NVME board.

I can't figure out what pulled that much current, but the HG21700 board is dead. (updated to show resistance values instead of no continuity. I'm still getting my feet wet in electronics, referencing amateur radio)

Luckily, no current made it past the cooked components, as reinstalling the 18650 nvme board, it booted right up and everything works after testing.

I did email HG and we'll see what they say when they get to my email. Not a fun day to see the pixies and smoke escape the boards.

OTH radar on upper end of 30M?

Tuned to upper 30M band to use an ARDOP winlink node. Met with what sounds like OTH radar. Spun up WebSDR to see what the NA5B near DC was picking up. Whatever it is, DC and Western NC can hear it, covers from 10145KHz to 10160KHz. doesnt show up too well on the waterfall, but the distinct sound is there. I know 30M is secondary, but I've never heard this on 30M before. Does anyone else hear this on their equipment?
