The Way Humans Treat Dragons Horrified Me

Yesterday, I was quietly wandering through a rather large and well-known human village (I won’t say the name so nobody goes and burns it down).

A lot of people had spoken badly about the village before, but honestly, it seemed pretty normal to me at first.

But then I saw a dragon rider talking to his dragon like it was a slave. Further down in the city, I even saw dragons and dragon scales being sold. The dragons looked more like property than living beings, and everyone acted like it was completely normal!

And if any humans are reading this: raising a baby dragon is extremely difficult, especially for a human. Dragons have emotions and feelings too.

Have any of you ever experienced this kind of thing?

Oc medieval in my warrior cat medieval AU

Here are some OCs by Remuslupin_fan for my medieval Warrior Cats AU.

Image 1:

After nearly being killed by a terrible illness that took the lives of cats twice as strong as her, Snaprise devoted herself entirely to StarClan and its cause, determined to become a knight in their honor. She refuses to tolerate anyone insulting the spirits of the past and will harshly scold anyone who does.

Image 2:

Aspenface always felt that the battlefield was never truly his calling. When he was apprentice-aged, his mother had another litter of kits, and Aspenface discovered how much he loved helping his exhausted mother care for them.

As those kits eventually became apprentices themselves, Aspenface realized he never wanted to leave the nursery. With permission, he stayed there permanently as a sort of den-dad, teaching young cats how to pounce and telling them stories of the past.

He’s incredibly caring and deeply loyal to those who stand beside him.

If you have questions, ideas, or even OCs I could add to this AU (they can have connections to already existing characters), feel free to share them!

BLUESTAR in my medieval AU

This post contains spoilers for the entirety of Arc 1:

Bluestar is a queen/leader who is very calm at the beginning of the story. She is highly respected and deeply protective of her Clan.

Later, when Tigerclaw betrays the Clan, Bluestar falls into paranoia as well (just like in the original story, but much more severely in this AU).

She eventually refuses to attend Gatherings or fulfill her duties as queen, putting her Clan in danger.

If you have any questions or ideas, feel free to share them!

Firepaw in my AU

Firepaw was born elsewhere, in Clans where cats are well cared for and protected.

Just like in the original story, he later joins the Clans and has to follow the knight’s code of chivalry.

He still isn’t fully appreciated at first, but he slowly starts forming bonds with other characters.

I’m not sure what else to develop for him yet, so if you have any ideas for this character in my AU, feel free to share! I’m open to suggestions and questions.

New characters for my AU !

Here’s an original character created for my AU:

Spiderwhisper is a senior knight who has witnessed countless battles throughout his life. He is deeply devoted to his duty and sees anything unrelated to work as unnecessary. Showing emotions or appearing imperfect is the last thing he wants.

He has always faced challenges head-on, such as when he lost sight in one eye and had to relearn part of his fighting style to adapt to his disability.

He enjoys sparring sessions and teaching apprentices new skills, and hopes he’ll still be able to do that in some way even after retiring.

If you have questions about the universe or this character, feel free to ask!

The character was created by remuslupin_fan.

Next time, I’ll do Firepaw and Graypaw.

RAVENPAW in my AU medieval warrior cat

Warrior Cats character in my medieval AU #1 (contains Cycle 1 spoilers)

Ravenpaw:

Ravenpaw keeps the same role as in the original story, meaning he witnessed Redtail’s murder by Tigerclaw. However, in this version, he originally wanted to become a hunter instead of a knight, but his parents forced him into knighthood for family honor.

He also loves reading and writing, and strongly dislikes iron armor and boots.

Later on, he ends up joining Gerboise, a lone farmer, in the barn. (I’ll develop this more later.)

If you have any questions or ideas, feel free to share them!

Medieval warrior cat

Right now, I’m making a medieval Warrior Cats AU.

ThunderClan is a clan of honorable knights, helping the weak while following the warrior code (which became a knight’s code in this AU).

RiverClan would be a clan of fishermen. They’d love shiny objects and would often trade fish with others.

ShadowClan would be a fierce clan of cats, masters of poison.

WindClan would be made up of more free-spirited felines and would have good relationships with loners.

The roles are different too:

- Leaders are more like kings and queens.

- Deputies are knights considered especially honorable, chosen to become the next leader.

- Medicine cats are alchemists or clerics. Instead of simple herbs, they make potions and study books.

- Warriors are knights and must follow the knight’s code.

- Apprentices go through the same training, but to earn their warrior name they must complete a solo journey to a specific place.

If you have ideas for the worldbuilding, character designs, or questions, feel free to ask! :)

(I’ll try to reply to as many people as possible.)

The Erins missed out on a genuinely fascinating direction for the series.

I really dislike how the Erins wasted the potential development of StarClan and the Dark Forest.

Sure, StarClan probably makes mistakes for the sake of the plot, but they could’ve turned those mistakes into something genuinely fascinating. StarClan makes SO MANY questionable decisions: sending Ashfur to StarClan but not Juniperclaw, putting Leafpool and Squirrelflight on trial even though THEY were following StarClan’s orders, or the weird personality changes cats get after dying…

It could’ve led to an amazing revelation: StarClan isn’t perfect. Maybe they’re flawed. Maybe biased. Maybe even manipulated by something bigger.

Then in arc 7, we start seeing Dark Forest cats helping the protagonists. But honestly, it gets annoying when every single helpful Dark Forest cat immediately gets linked to Tigerstar and suddenly goes “OMG HE’S MY IDOL.” It feels really forced.

Arc 8 could’ve gone in such an interesting direction. The Clans could’ve started questioning the system and trying to change it, leading to an actually powerful message: redemption and forgiveness are possible.

Things I believed as a kid about Warrior Cats

When I was a kid, I HATED reading the descriptions, so I just made up my own interpretation of Warrior Cats. I thought the cats lived in little wooden cabins with stairs, books, carpets, and stuff like that. I also thought Mousefur and Yellowfang were males because their names sounded masculine to me. In my head, the cats were basically medieval warriors. (Honestly, I’d really love to see Warrior Cats in an actual medieval setting.) Did any of you have weird ideas like that when you were kids? (Or would you also love to see medieval Warrior Cats lol.-)
