What MOS makes sense for SOF/airborn as end goal
EU army Sof (croatia/germany)
Hello everyone
I would like to point out that I am awear how difficult this is and that this career path will most likely require life long dedication to which I am fine with.
I am entering basic training in a EU states army. I am completely in the dark when it comes to some things.
I am joining with the main goal of some sort of SOF or airborn. How does one go about getting the best chances for it. Are certain MOS better for a shot at the big leagues, will I be offered specific MOS or monitored during basics. I plan to spend a longer time in the army. Should I maybe try an officer route if I plan to spend 5-10 years... is it better to strive for an NCO roll if you are pursuing airbone or SOF... airborn seems to be considered elite in EU but in the states not necessairly. What should I look for in the possible contract I would get...
I am planning to go infantry or am I supposed to be offered airborn before my MOS???
As I understood SOF is only after 2-3 years of service and applying for special courses and passing them.
It seems to be a bit different in the EU since there isnt much info about it here.
I don't have a BA
