This poor old girl has worn paint, rough interior, and needs a thorough cleaning.
100k miles, decent tires, no dash lights, clean title, second owner, and is a daily driver. We've done all the regular oil changes, belts, mechanical fixes, etc., over the years.
Anyone have a clue what she's worth? Carmax says $1500.
After spending $1800 at a 4x4 place to "fix" the cylinder 4 after the CEL with code PO304, the CEL came back on. The 4x4 place brushed me off and started in on how expensive it would be to go further just to assess. Something seemed fishy so I went to an independent Jeep place. They 100% work on Jeeps only. They told me the 4x4 place "fixed" the wrong thing. That this is a known issue and their assessment was off. That it's bank 2 valve, etc. (REPLACE BANK TWO CYLINDER HEAD)
Now I'm a bit worried on who is telling me the correct info and if the price is high on this current quote. Reddit AI says the Jeep place is quoting $400 to $1100 too much.
The Jeep has 56,245 original miles. I bought it a year ago and I guess I got a bit of a lemon. My 2012 Rubicon has never given me any trouble so I took a chance on this Altitude.
Any advice on how and where to proceed would be much appreciated.
I'm considering renting out a room in my condo. Anyone have experience with this? About 5 miles from The Domain. Not far from Dell. If so, do you think renters prefer furnished vs unfurnished. Will look for subs but thought I'd start here. Right answers are great, but wrong answers are welcome.
