Advice Needed: Health Insurance Denying or Delaying Immunotherapy for My Mom’s Stage 4 Endometrial Cancer

Hi everyone,
My mom lives in the US and was recently diagnosed with stage 4 endometrial cancer. She started treatment a few weeks ago and is currently on her second cycle of chemotherapy, with four more cycles to go.
Her doctor has recommended adding immunotherapy to her treatment plan, but the cancer treatment center is still waiting for the insurance company to approve it.
My concern is that her current health insurance, which she gets through her employer, seems to have limited coverage for some of the treatments she needs. Since her diagnosis, she hasn’t been able to work because she is still recovering from the effects of each chemotherapy cycle.
I’m trying to understand what options she might have to get better insurance coverage and access to the treatment her doctor recommends.
For those familiar with the US healthcare system, I have a few questions:
Is it possible to upgrade or change her health insurance plan after being diagnosed with cancer, or would she have to wait for the next open enrollment period?
If her insurance company is delaying or refusing to approve the immunotherapy, is there a way to appeal the decision or request an expedited review?
Are there any programs or resources that could help cover the cost of treatment if her current insurance doesn’t cover enough?
Since she is currently unable to work because of her treatment, are there other health insurance options she could qualify for, such as COBRA, Medicaid, or an ACA Marketplace plan?
We just want to make sure she has access to the best care possible without unnecessary delays because of insurance issues.
I’m based in the UK, so I’m not very familiar with how health insurance works in the US. Any advice, personal experiences, or resources would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much

How do you guys do it? *Sad*

How do you guys do it? For months been literally begging, soliciting just to let me manager and management know i am due to some sort of promotion, under utilised, i am due for a raise but slowly slowly it has made me feel they know i am on a visa and my options are limited. Imagine making the phrase "sorry we can't promote you because it would be hard to get someone who does what you do" lol. The job once started as something i love but overtime it has broken me, made me lose my self esteem, watching people who came after me get promoted but still stuck in the same role. After 4 years in the company and 3 years to go(skilled worker visa). How do you guys do it? How do you handle being stuck in the same role? How do you go to work everyday still feeling motivated to do the job while slowly counting your days. Lol tbh! The skilled worker visa really gives the employer the freedom to everything, treat you anyhow! Looking and hoping it gets better.

NEED HELP! My head is spinning

I applied for my wife's skilled worker visa extension after i received mine. I received my own sometime last month. Due to the confusion in the link for applying for a skilled worker dependant extension i am not sure if we have applied for the correct visa category.

This is a skilled worker visa and not health and social care visa.

Her Application submitted last month still waiting approval from HO has the visa type - Dependant Partner

I tried creating a new application this morning to see if the previous application was applied under the correct category/visa type, to my suprise it has the heading - PBS, Start-up, Innovator or Global Talent dependant partner

Please which visa category is correct?

I am thinking of varying the previous application and submitting a fresh one with the current visa type.

Her current visa still carries my old visa end date which is End of august 2026.

DEPENDANT VISA EXTENSION CONCERN

Hi everyone. I don't know who has gone through this.

I applied for my skilled worker visa extension as the main applicant 4th of June (this is not health and care visa) got Approved next day as i used priority. On the 8th of june i applied for my dependent (wife). She used the Gov.uk app to verify herself so there was no need for biometrics. I was expecting to receive a family linking code when i applied for mine but didn't receive any, so we decided to use my UAN. After the submitting her application i was expecting some sort of evidence request but it says there is no need to submit any evidence. We have been married for three year and she has been on my visa for that period before applying for the remaining two years recently. On the 10th she received the email attached. " >!You have finished the application process for Dependant Partner.!<
>!We will contact you with the decision.!< ". I am getting abit worried as i know alot of applications have been getting approved quicker than expected even with standard application. Is it normal not to receive the email acknowledgment from the home office stating time frame they plan on giving us a response.
Thank you

COS PDF - How long does it take

Hi,

Please i need help, we currently have COS allocation, all my details has been entered into the COS system and the correct ISC has been paid, the COS has also been assigned to me but i can't apply as the HR stated she is waiting for the COS pdf to come through so she could send it over to me as i need the info to apply for my visa. Just curious. I thought this used to be instant? Once you fill in the details and paid the ISC fee i thought you get the PDF instantly. I was wondering why it is taking time for the COS pdf with the certificate number to come through. Can anyone help please. Thank you
