Hi all! Thought I would ask here in addition to r/movies. Curious to see if there are any stories of what it was like to experience The Exorcist for the first time, including the lead-up to the actual release.

I’ve always been fascinated by the lore that the original theatrical trailer made people physically ill (there is a ton of flashing), to the point Warner Bros. eventually pulled it.

This film is still terrifying to me today, so I can’t imagine how I would have reacted back then!

Hi all! New to the sub, but not to the show. Since starting my latest X-Files binge (whatever number this is now), 😅 I’ve realized I still come back to Monday more than any other episode.

I remember the promo made me lose my mind before it even aired, and how I kept replaying the same handful of scenes once I had it on tape. Partner-in-peril has always been my jam, but it’s such an entertaining and thought-provoking episode all around.
