Minor Blues Riff in 3rd Position Across Two Octaves

Harmonica Mondays #7

Been working on getting more comfortable moving through multiple octaves in 3rd position and came up with this minor riff on an A Kongsheng Sunrise.

I play it full speed first, then break it down step by step with a slower version later in the video.

3rd position has such a cool darker sound for blues stuff compared to standard cross harp playing.

Would love to hear how some of you approach minor playing in 3rd position too.

Lemme know if you try it.

Heavy Vibrato Blues Harmonica Riff (2nd Position)

Harmonica Mondays #6

Been working on getting heavier vibrato into my riffs lately. This week’s Harmonica Monday is a blues harmonica riff in 2nd position on a Kongsheng Sunrise A. I play it first, then break it down step by step with a slower version around 1:57.

Curious how many of you focus on vibrato as a separate practice thing versus just developing it naturally over time.

Lemme know if you try it.

New lessons every Monday.

Blues Harmonica Chugging Riff (Only Holes 1–3)

Kongsheng Sunrise G (2nd Position)

Chugging riff using only holes 1-3. Music first, then I break down how to play it, then there’s a slower version around 3:27.

Lemme know if you try it.

3 Draw Bend Riff

Kongsheng Sunrise C (2nd Position)

Here’s a riff that is good for practicing the 3 draw whole step bend. Fast version up top, then I break it down and play it slower at the end (around 1:53).

Lemme know if you try it.
