What we think about these emergers? Some feedback would be helpful. The last one with the yellow background may be the best one, added some xsmall flash on the body. Is the hackle a bit too high on that one though?
I have a lot of fine and medium copper wire leftover from an electrical project. Has anyone used copper from electrical wire for tying? I know it’s not totally the same but the fine and medium stuff is very similar sized to the rolls from the fly shop. Thinking I can use this even if it’s just to wrap around the shank for some extra weight.
Has anyone utilized pheasant wings for tying? What specifically did you use and what types of flies have you found to be good to tie with them? I’ve got a crapload of wings and lots of capes, but already use a tong of cape feathers.
Found this rod at a pawn shop last weekend, slapped a Remington classic trout on and went float tubing on a small lake and couldn’t keep count of how many caught, needless to say, already love the rod, especially for the price!
Was trying to find more info but seems like everyone has the 10’ version of this rod, however, everyone also seems to like it very much. I do hear that folks tend to like this in 5wt and under, however.
