any hints & tips on V60 / Switch recipes?

I've switched to decaf about a month ago, and make one or two two-cup Hario Switch brews a day, but no matter how coarse I grind the beans, it seems to stall the brew. I've tried adding water first for an immersion bloom, but this doesn't help much either, by the time I've done a few more pours it just clogs up again.

Does anyone have any hints or tips? Should I just try to avoid all percolation and stick to immersion, maybe just buy a cafetiere(french press)?

I just use cheap beans, a medium/dark roast.

Standard Hario V60 02 filters.
