I-765 OPT Application - 3 Months In, Waiting for Final Adjudication. Any Insights?

Hey everyone,

I could use some advice/reassurance about my I-765 (Employment Authorization) case. Here's my situation:

**CASE DETAILS:**

- **Form:** I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization)

- **Submitted:** February 25, 2026 (electronically)

- **Current Status:** Not closed, no action required

**TIMELINE OF EVENTS:**

  1. Feb 25 - Application received & initial action (IAF)

  2. Feb 28 - Case imaging completed (IMAG)

  3. Mar 19 - Biometrics appointment completed (FTA0)

  4. Mar 19 → May 21 - **No new events (61+ days of waiting)**

**CURRENT STATUS (as of May 21):**

- ✓ Acknowledged by adjudicator AND CMS

- ✓ No pending documents or evidence requests

- ✓ No action required from me

- ⚠️ "areAllGroupStatusesComplete" = FALSE (still waiting for final completion)

**MY SITUATION:**

I just graduated and have a real job offer from a tech company to start June 8th, 2026. My supervisor and HR are being flexible, but I need my EAD approved ASAP. I'm estimating my approval around June 30th based on normal processing times, but I'm hoping it comes earlier.

**MY QUESTIONS:**

  1. Does "acknowledged by adjudicator" mean they've reviewed it and are just making a final decision? Or could it mean something else?

  2. Is 61+ days of no new events normal after biometrics? Should I be concerned?

  3. Anyone else filed in late Feb 2026 with similar timelines? When did you get approved?

  4. Is it worth requesting expedited processing at this point? I have employer documentation showing they want to hire me ASAP.

  5. Realistically, what's my timeline to approval is June 30 reasonable?

**WHAT I'VE DONE:**

- Completed biometrics on time

- Uploaded employer emails showing job offer and flexibility

- About to contact USCIS to request expedited processing

I know I can't do much except wait, but any insights from people who've been through this would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!
