Hi everyone, I’m planning a DIY solar/battery setup and trying to choose between a 3kW and 5kW hybrid inverter.

I’m trying to keep the budget reasonable, but I also don’t want to undersize the inverter and end up replacing it later. I’m also trying to figure out how much of the install is realistic to DIY, like mounting the solar panels, wiring the batteries, setting up the inverter, and what parts are better left to an electrician.

Any practical tips on mounting panels, wiring everything safely, choosing the right breakers/fuses, or avoiding common DIY mistakes would be really appreciated.

I don’t want to overspend on a bigger inverter if I don’t need it, but I also don’t want to buy a 3kW unit and regret it later if it limits what I can run.
