Is programming worth learning as a nurse?
I’m planning to become a nurse, but I’m also interested in programming. Is it worth learning, and are there any ways it could be useful in nursing?

I know some basic stuff about AI, and I've used it for things like image/video generation and research. But I don't really know what else there is to learn or where I should start.
What are people learning about AI these days beyond image and video generation? There seem to be so many areas, and I'm not sure which ones are actually worth learning.
If you were starting from the basics today, what would you recommend learning first?
I've been passionate about learning science and math since I was a kid. I don't just memorize facts—I like to question things and understand how they actually work. Because of this, I feel that electrical engineering would be a suitable career for me, and I think I would genuinely enjoy doing it.
Recently, my father, who is a nurse, advised me to choose nursing over engineering. He isn't forcing me to become a nurse, but considering my family's financial situation, nursing would be a much easier path for me because one of my dad's friends has offered to sponsor my school fees.
My father also told me that some of his engineering friends are now unemployed and that nursing is a much more secure career. Although he isn't forcing me to choose nursing, this has made me question my original decision.
So my questions are:
Is engineering still a secure career in the future, especially considering the recent developments in AI?
Also, since I am considering working abroad in the future, would I have a higher risk of unemployment or difficulty finding work as an immigrant in engineering?
I'd really appreciate hearing from people who work in engineering or have experience with the industry. What would you recommend?
