So I, 26f, had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted this past Thursday while awake only under a local anesthetic. I have been scouring this thread far as I was very scared and im also an avid straw user and thc smoker. I will say the procedure is intimidating but I communicated with my dentist and played the loudest system of a down songs I could find so I didnt hear all the noises. My top teeth came out easy but my bottoms were infected and had to be shattered. Im coming here to try and say amongst all these posts, this experience post removal is no where near whete I thought itd be. My dentist personally told me to eat soft foods that could be cut with a plastic fork to avoid losing nutrition as some do under a liquid diet and to not use straws or eat seeds, grains, chips, hard or crunchy foods. Ive basically followed this to a t. I had ramen, yogurt and pudding day 1. Day 2 had mashed potatoes made with chicken broth and mac n cheese, day 3 I was fine enough to go to a preplanned baseball game and carefully and slowly ate a hot dog and some dip n dots. If these posts scare the fuck out of you i promise, it may not be as bad as it seens. Granted everyone is different, they have me on steroids for swelling and ibuprofen 800mg which i barely have used. The hardest part for me is not smoking right now but im on day 4 and by day 7 i will be lighting up!!
