Desk job tightness and sleep after six weeks with a red light panel
ok random but I've been sleeping better lately and it took me a minute to figure out why. used to wake up around 4am two or three times a night, now it's more like once if that. only thing that changed is I started doing red light in the evenings, roughly six weeks now.
context on why I even got into this, desk job, laptop hunched all day, the whole deal. my neck actually cracked three times in a row last week just from standing up, coworker heard it and made a face lol. shoulders basically live up by my ears by 2pm most days.
the panel itself is nothing fancy, half body size, hangs on my office door. I run it while doing other stuff honestly, answering emails, scrolling, whatever. red and infrared together, maybe 15-20 min, standing about 6 inches away. tension wise it's mostly neck and upper back that get the attention, according to my old massage therapist that's where I hold everything. lower back gets a turn too on days I've been glued to the chair, which is most days if I'm honest
the sleep thing surprised me the most out of everything, like I said. falling asleep is quicker too, used to be scrolling for 20 min before passing out, now more like 5-10. the afternoon crash isn't hitting as hard either, that wall around 3pm where I just want to lay on the floor
still work too much and my posture's a mess most days, but at least this is low effort enough that I've actually kept doing it. more than I can say for most stuff I've tried
