Any Value From Placing Alright in Jump Trading Probability Cup?

Currently placed about Top 50 out of like 3.5k ppl. Idk if this has any recruitment value at Jump or other firms. I am first at my university which is kinda cool ig but nothing crazy.

With it wrapping up I’m wondering if I just full send so I could maybe get a prize but risk falling off or should I play consistent and get a Top 50/40ish placement if it means anything.

Can’t Get Interviews Despite Target School, 4.0 GPA, FAANG Internship

Just the title, literally haven’t been able to make it to the interview stage at places like Jane Street, DE Shaw, etc. made it to Citadel final round last cycle but nothing else in quant rlly. Like idk what to even do at this point, literally studied up and grinded problems to not even get the chance to interview.

Edit: I have had my resume reviewed by a prof who said it was good (but I’d take it with a grain of salt). I’ve tailored my resume to all my job postings as well.

Likelihood of getting Citadel Interview Again After Failing Final Round?

Applied for the launch program this year, made it to the final round and fucking sold the bag. Actually made me wanna kms. Rejection email encouraged me to apply for the SWE intern program this July. Haven’t had luck making it past resume screen at places like Jane Street though. Should I be good to at least get an interview?

Trying To Get Into Stanford Masters CS From T10 CS School but Too much industry experience vs research

I have a pretty good GPA: 3.9+ but have really focused on industry rather than research. I did do research back in high school for a period of 2 years but since then I’ve been interning at FAANG company in the summer, and co-op during the school year for the past year. I’m anticipating getting a LOR from my manager, and the professor who I did research with in HS. In addition to that, I’m gonna be getting a LOR from a class I was ranked 1st in but tbh didnt really make a relationship with the prof. I know how important research is so am I just cooked?

Any Point Playing IMC Chess If ur buns

I’m high key washed at chess (know my elo isn’t good enough to place) is there any recruitment value from just playing but dudding? I do have other plans which I would much rather be doing but if there is any benefit, I’d be down to play. Any insights?

Edit: for context I’m 1750 rated on chess.com and haven’t played in a hot minute.

Resume Tips To Get Interviews From T10 School + Amazon Intern

I’m a rising Junior looking to recruit for Quant SWE roles next cycle. I’m gonna be interning at Amazon 2 years in a row and go to a T10 CS school.

This year I didn’t find much success recruiting at quant companies, made it to the final round for Citadel but seemed to have failed resume screens at a lot of places. Didn’t get any spring weeks either at HRT/IMC both of which I aced their OAs in like half the time.

Idk how I can make my resume more appealing. My work experience is mostly in Java and some Python which isn’t ideal but can’t really change that. Last cycle I also applied to most companies as just a CS major but this cycle will be applying as a CS + Math Minor for all that’s worth. Anyone have any advice to have a better shot?

Any Value From YC Startup School?

Got accepted but am unsure whether or not to go. Is there any resume-value or recruiting value from going to the event?
