Looking for more info on thrifted wooden box— Found in United States but suspected to be from SE Asia
Found at a thrift shop in the southeast US
There was clearly a knob on the drawer originally which was lost before the box came into my possession.
Based on reverse image searching, it seems to be Thai and made of teak wood, though there’s a possibility of it being Indian as well. I’ve found only a handful of similar style boxes online, and most close matches were listed under very vague titles like “antique/vintage wooden box”
Was hoping to get a better idea of where it’s from, what time period it was crafted in, and how best to care for it. Any information on the history of the box and the culture it’s from would also be greatly appreciated!
