Weighing my options with staying in and hoping my latmove to Intel goes through or just putting terminal and transferring to the Army. Im basically trying to do a latmov + reenlistment to Intel with hopes that i can get an eligibility to do the process but I am also torn with just putting terminal and starting the process with the Army.

My questions is If I put terminal leave do I get my DD 214 earlier than my EAS date and can start my enlistment process with the Army? Also, what are the current good MOS for promotion, work/family balance and people usually enjoy? I would like to go Intel but if I cant then so be it. Any and all advice welcomed.

Hello, I am a Sgt in the USMC reserves and I am attempting to do a lateral move (MOS switch) into the intelligence field. As such I have to qualify for a Top Secret clearance. I filled out a pre screener which is basically some questions off of the SF 86 form to determine my eligibility as I need the eligibility to see if the USMC will even entertain my Latmov. My question are as follows:

What is a rough timeframe to get a response?

When do i submit the SF 86 form? As I know the process is a long one but do I go to training while the investigation is ongoing or do I have to wait to get the full approval first.
