Creepy abandoned Kindergarden

It was the middle of the night, around twelve-thirty, when I found myself in this abandoned kindergarten. Time had really left its mark there. Where there used to be the sound of children laughing, there was now only this heavy, oppressive silence. You could still tell what it used to be because of the small cloakrooms and the play areas with an old toy kitchen, but there were hardly any toys left. Everything just felt empty and forgotten.

My boyfriend and I had set up to sleep in the main group room. There were only two beds, and one was on a platform about two feet higher than the other. He was in the top one and I was in the bottom. Before I could settle in, I had to use the bathroom.

I left the room, walked through the dark hallway, and went into the tiny toilet stall. It was barely a meter by a meter and a half. The floor was made of a weird, rubber like texture. The toilet was right in the middle with its back against the left wall. I just sat there for a while, lingering in the silence.

To my left, there was a massive doorway, almost twice as wide as a normal door. It led into another room where some small jackets and shoes were still sitting there, but I couldn't see any further because it was pitch black. I tried to pull the door shut to hide the darkness, but it was ancient. The yellowed paint was cracked and the door didn't even fit the frame, i mean it just hung there crooked, leaving the gap wide open.

Right in front of me was another empty door frame. There was a step leading down into total darkness, and if I looked diagonally to the right, I could see into the next large room where the windows were glowing slightly from the streetlights outside.

Suddenly, a voice broke the silence. I don’t know if it was a child or what, but it said, "Huh, is there something standing there? Is that a man? What is that?"

I leaned to the left to look and just froze. There was a shadow silhouetted against the window that looked like the outline of a figure. The second I saw it, it noticed me too. It started coming at me with these horrible, jerky movements, like a video being fast-forwarded.

I was absolutely terrified. I backed up as far as I could, pressing my spine against the coats and the wall of the cloakroom, trying to scream with everything I had. But nothing came out. Just this faint, wheezing sound of air. The figure just kept twitching closer and closer.

Right as I hit peak panic, my boyfriend woke up. I could see his silhouette rushing toward me to help, but in the dark, they were both just black shapes charging at me. I couldn't tell who was who anymore. Just as one of them reached out to grab me, I snapped awake.

I was lying in my bed, soaked in sweat and breathing so hard, still shaking from trying to scream for help... it's been a while that I've had a dream that actually scared me like that. Im glad I wasn't home alone, if I was think I would've gotten my dog to sleep in my bedroom (ToT)

Had a dream last night, wrote it into a story and wanted to share it. I dream like this sometimes and I wake up pretty exhausted, I also have some more nightmareish dream stories like this if ur interested :) didn't know what to do with them so I thought I'll share it here. Have fun reading!

The day at my aunt's house started like any other summer day: warm, quiet, but a little nostalgic, as I hadn’t visited my Aunt Claudia very often since getting older. Accompanied by my dog, Sam, we strolled through the tranquil village. Right next to Claudia’s house lay the small church property, a silent place that my aunt tended to with great care. We opened a heavy hatch in the ground (a kind of earthen cellar) to get some jam jars thatwere stored there. Everything was peaceful. Sam sniffed in the tall grass, and we took a long walk through the fields before dusk began to settle in.

But the calmness was not to last. After dinner, my boyfriend, my other aunt Evelyn, and her family came over to visit.

Later that evening, the television flickered, we were desperate to watch a horror movie again. We put on Resident Evil 7, but it didn’t feel like a game, it felt like an endless, thrilling movie. The tension in the room became more palpable with every passing minute. As we stood up toward the end of the film, I was the first to notice it: a tiny, unnatural glint in the corner of an oil painting on the wall. Was that... a camera?

Panic rose inside me. The radio suddenly began to crackle and i heard a hollow, static noise that wouldn't stop. I ripped the camera from its mounting and switched the radio off in a panic, only to discover another lens inside a different, massive mural. We were being watched.

Despite the shiver running down our spines, we headed back out into the fresh air. While the rest of the family waited fearfully in the living room, my aunt, my boyfriend, my little cousin, and I ventured out into the darkness toward the neighbors.

Outside, it was unnaturally busy; there was so much going on, as if some neighbors were having a party or something similar. People scurried through the shadows. My uncle came rushing after us as we reached the lawn of the small church. Suddenly, the figures in front of us stopped. In the darkness, their eyes flared up. It was a vivid, unnatural red. The glow vanished as quickly as it had appeared, but what remained was madness. With swift yet zombie-like movements, they picked up speed and charged toward us.

"Run!" I screamed. My boyfriend and my little cousin stood paralyzed for seconds before they grasped the danger. We reached the house just in time, the door slamming shut behind us, but we were not alone. A woman had slipped inside with us. Before we could react, she threw herself to the ground, her eyes flashing briefly. Her limbs cracked sickeningly as she contorted herself like a spider. With her feet against the wall and her hands on the parquet floor, her head twisted a full 180 degrees, her eyes fixed staring at us.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a hard cut.

We weren't in the house. We were standing in a giant stadium on a luxury cruise ship. Everything we had just experienced had been broadcast on a gigantic screen. A movie or... an experiment. Relief washed over us like a warm wave. We had survived the shock, we laughed, met friends, and mingled with the crowd.

But the safety was an illusion. While I was chatting with friends, I noticed the waiters. When the light hit their faces at a certain angle, it flashed again: that bright red glow. They weren't attacking openly yet, as if held in check by an invisible signal, but they began to hunt us inconspicuously. As they passed by, their fingers reached for us. It was a brief, targeted snatching in the crowd that no one but us noticed. My boyfriend was already instinctively creeping up toward the bleachers, while I clung to the outside of a staircase to escape the searching hands. No one else seemed to notice the creeping danger.

Then, out of the blue, the "all-clear" was given. "It's all just part of the show!" they said. The mood turned festive again. We walked to the large pool deck. In the center, the water was being pumped out of the pool. In one corner, a gruesome, mushroom-like network emerged. It was thickly woven and whitish, and trapped inside like flies in a web hung human corpses.

"Nothing to worry about," the officers called out, waving it off, "just a few drowned people who got caught."

Disgust tightened my throat, but the crowd around us accepted the explanation. After the removal, the water was let back in. An artificial whirlpool circled around a massive block in the pool. I stood at the edge of the basin, my acquaintance Ben right next to me in the shallow water.

Suddenly, a figure shot out of the vortex. Before anyone could react, it lunged at a man and tore his head off with inhuman strength to greedily reach for his brain. This time it was no "game," no planned moment to entertain people. This was reality.

I screamed at my acquaintance in the water to get out immediately. He made it out of the pool at the very last second. I jumped out with a single leap, literally feeling the attacker's cold breath on my neck. We ran as fast as our legs could carry us, away from this floating slaughterhouse, until we reached a small VW bus.

We drove off in the bus as fast as we could, just to get away from all the madness, and behind us, we heard more and more screams echoing through the twilight. After driving for a while, the mood became more relaxed. From the passenger seat, I turned around to the back. There were my aunt, a few of our friends, and Ben who had almost been caught. Luckily, we had escaped. I looked at them with relief and saw a brief shimmer in Ben's eyes. Was it... red?
