UC Waitlist Warrior

Applied to every UC except merced and got waitlisted at ucla, ucb, uci, and ucsb. Accepted to ucr, ucsc, and ucd; rejected to ucsd:(

But now I got into all of my waitlists so went 7/8!

UCLA orientation help/advice

I don’t really get how all this works, but I heard signing up for an orientation later in the year (august) is better? Can anyone give me insight/advice for how/what to sign up for

How to access UCLA email?

I just set my official email to the ucla.edu email, but whenever I try to sign in using g.ucla.edu it gives me this error:

  1. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know

How do I access my email?

Hi, I just committed after getting off the waitlist but feel a little behind on everything. Most importantly, I’m wondering how im supposed to get a roommate, as most already have their groups set. I would preferably not want to go random.

I’m also wondering if there are any more admitted student events during the summer or ways to connect with others.

Lastly, if there is anything I should be taking a look at rn as a new student Pls lmk!

I got in for biology and I am pre-health, and super want to commit, but these things are holding me back:

  1. Quarter system. I heard you are studying for tests 24/7 and it’s insanely fast paced. If anyone has insight with this that would be great. Also you end later so internships can be harder to get?

  2. General competitive environment. Is it really that hard to land internships or get the classes you want or is it something like if you work a little harder than normal it’s doable? Similarly, is a 4.0 gpa attainable? Obviously it is anywhere but how much harder compared to a smaller private school?

Any other general insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi, I just payed the deposit and am now looking to complete the tasks on the student website. Does anyone have advice for housing? I know it’s completely random, but is there anything I can do to raise my chances of getting the better ones?

Also does it matter when I submit because I don’t have a roommate yet.

Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated, as I am trying to figure all this out :)
