I hate my new Twins Gloves
First ever Reddit post so bare with me. Was in the market for new boxing gloves, after some research I got myself a pair of twins special bgvl3 from mma warehouse. I read that these are great all rounders for bag work, mitt work, and sparring. After using nothing but cheap gloves for a year I was excited to get a pair that was higher quality.
After one heavy bag session my knuckles were extremely sore, figured I just needed to break the gloves in. Fast forward to around 15 uses later and the gloves are still killing my knuckles every time I use them. This has been drawn out over the course of two months since I need to take time off after every use since.
I’ve read now that twins have a long break in period but this seems extreme. I wrap my hands using the method Tony Jeffries has uploaded. I also went to get a gel knuckle guard from hayabusa. This helped marginally. I also got the skulltec knuckle pads which helped more substantially.
Worth noting I’ve been training officially in a gym for 6-7 months, but have been doing bag work on my own for around double that. I’m around 6-2 200lbs and I’m a former collegiate track athlete. All of the cheaper gloves I’ve used I never had issues. I would also do bare knuckle bag work pretty frequently too( I know cringe) and never had a problem. But when I get a quality pair of gloves all of sudden these issues started. Please let me know what you guys think. I’m about ready to try to sell them on Facebook marketplace or trade them.
